The Danish-Arab Partnership Program (DAPP) is Denmark’s development cooperation program
WHAT IS DAPP?
The Danish-Arab Partnership Program (DAPP) is Denmark’s development cooperation program with the Middle East and North Africa. Since 2003, DAPP has worked to promote human rights, equality, and job creation in the four focus countries: Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, and Jordan.
TO CREATE A BETTER LIFE FOR YOUTH
Up to 60 percent of the population in the region are young people under the age of 25. Youth unemployment is around 30 percent, and too many young people are politically, socially, and economically marginalized. DAPP’s vision for 2022-2027 encompasses an overarching objective of improving the quality of life for young people in the four focus countries. The projects aimed at accomplishing this objective are run collaboratively by DAPP’s Danish civil society partners and local NGOs.
THE PROJECTS HAVE TWO MAIN FOCUS AREAS:
1. To ensure young people’s human rights by working for gender equality, free media, and prevention of violence and torture.
2. To improve young people’s access to the labor market by promoting entrepreneurship and job creation.
